Amanda, I’m not going to comment on the debate going on, I just wanted to make a small sidebar comment. You sound like one of the “fun” teachers and I would have much prefered this in biology instead of the countless disections that my class did. Yuck!
Although it was pretty funny when I accidentally cut into the airsack of my perch and I thought the poor little guy was empty. No organs, no anything. It even took a minute for my teacher to figure out what I had done, and by that time, I was convinced my fish was a mutant superfish, able to live with nothing on the inside. hahaha.
