[Worldwide Koi Club] Pond Pump died. Suggestions for new one?
I currently am using a sump pump and I agree it has issues. Mine is in side a mesh trashcan with a screen attached to the top to keep the fish out. They will go in any container you place it in (learned this the hard way). I plan on getting a new pump in the future but in the meantime I have made it almost impossible for the fish to get in. When I first hooked it up I put 60 feeder goldfish in the pond and the next morning they were all gone. My waterfall is almost 6 feet tall but once I climbed up it I found their heads! It was bad. Since the pump was placed in the can with screen it has not gotten any fish at all. So if you do use a sump pump use extreme caution and make SURE the fish cannot get in. Heather
