[UniQuaria] Ram Cichlids?

I know what you mean. One of the stores I used to go to, I could expect 50% die-off of whatever I bought within the first 24 hours. If they survived the first 24 hours, they were fine. Didn’t matter what species I bought. I didn’t have that problem shopping for fish at any other store. I finally stopped buying fish there unless it was a species I could afford to buy a fairly large group of at a low price. It’s the pits living in the boonies.. *G* Thankfully, I’ve discovered online stores and Aquabid though, so I decided I don’t have to settle for lower quality and the very limited species available in my area. :-)
Yeah, the blue rams are the ones I am interested in finding out more about. I’ve gotten my hands on some good information, I think, just want a little confirmation from people who have had them.

I have had blue rams or german blue rams, if that is the species you are referring to. If so, I found them to be a little shy. Such a beautiful fish, but they tend to keep to the shadows. But I also have to consider that in my area they were not selling healthy rams. I had great tank conditions and all my other fish were healthy, but I lost several rams, and there was no explanation until I talked to the LFS and they remarked how many of them had died. So perhaps my rams did not display typical behavior. I haven’t tried since. I hate to lose fish.
