[UniQuaria] Newbie with new tank/ ammonia questions
Hi Cheerfulmomma. Once things stabilize you’ll find this to be an enjoyable hobby. You are off to the same rough start I was. You’re probably almost over the hump! Once fully cycled, it will be much less stressful & expensive, too!
Keep doing the water changes so long as you have live fish remaining. I would do 25% once a day. Cut back on the food to once every other day.
I don’t think Ammo Lock is recommended by fishkeepers here, but I know you’re trying to keep your remaining fish alive. I hope someone else here can advise you. I know when my first tank was in exactly the same trouble yours is, I was told to ride it out and not add chemicals at all.
What kind of ‘log’ do you have in the tank? What is it made of and where did you get it?
I hope your remaining fish can make it through the rest of the cycling process. Once the tank is cycled, wait a few weeks before adding more fish, then introduce them one or two at a time so the cycle doesn’t get disrupted and set you back to square one!
Have you read the documents in the Files area for the group? Bren
