[UniQuaria] Hungry chinese algae eater

There are special foods made just for algae eaters that you can buy. Also, you can use the food recommendations of plecos - boiled lettuce, zucchini and other such greens weighted down with a small rock or something. The CAE like that stuff as much as the plecos do. They’ll also eat regular flaked fish foods, though I’m not sure a steady diet of that is good for them (or any fish).

>>> Hi! I am pretty much a novice, but I have a 29 gallon tank with a >>> chinese algae eater (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) in it as well as 5 >>> gouramis. When I got the algae eater the tank had plenty of algae in >>> it, but he has done a tremedous job in cleaning it, and now I doubt that >>> there is a morsel of anything for him to eat!! What should I get to >>> feed him until there is more algae for him to nibble on? Thanks! >>> Carol
