Garras make plecos (and flying foxes) look like amateurs when it comes to algae eating. They also fit the theme of your tank. Harlequin rasboras are a good choice, just be sure to get a good number of them (12-15). Asian rummynose (Sawbwa resplendens) is another good choice. There are a number of peaceful barbs that you can use as well: Oreichthys sp. “neon highfin”, sunset barb (Puntius narayani), Denisons’ barb (Puntius denisoni), P. rhomboocellatus, P. gelius, P. canius, P. phunitio, to list a few. There are also a number of goby species (Sicyopterus, Stipodon and the like), plus lots of loaches, catfish., and shrimp.
