Tube clamps…..


I do run a bottle brush through my Rena Filstar tubes every couple of years, although it’s probably not necessary, but I don’t think there’s a reason to disinfect them unless you are completely breaking down a tank to disinfect the entire system from some kind of pathogen. The algae in the tubes will only return anyhow.. it’s natural.
If you do decide to use a bleach solution, after rinsing, sink the hose in water with a quadruple dose of dechlor to make sure even a single drop of bleach water doesn’t get into your system. Even a drop of bleach is very harmful to a tanks ecology… and the fish themselves.
