Tadpoles
Those darker colored fish are goldfish babies. The young ones are often a brown, bronze or nearly black color but they do change colors. For the past few years my daughter has been catching some of the early fry or harvesting eggs and placing them into an aquarium and caring for them until she feels they are ready to go with the big boys. It has been neat to watch the change in the fish. We actually had one that started out bronze, changed to orange and then to a calico-orange/blue/white. That has been his colors now for the past few years anyway. We have had our larger ones also change to different shades. James S.
