Sorry, Another algae question

2 weeks before you start to see some green spot algae is quite fine and in the norm with most other well lit planted tanks. This is a calcerous algae and can therefore be further limited in growth by maintaining high PO4 levels, however these on their own can lead to problems if not managed correctly. I wouldn’t worry about it personally, I use a razor blade on an stick to clean it off once a month or so.
Using Flourish Excel would also reduce it’s growth, however due to it’s cost I would only consider it if there is reason to add more carbon for the plants’ needs. Your situation isn’t really problematic by the sounds of things and using Excel just to further reduce it’s growth is rather expensive. If you’re having other algae related problems however it can be of great help.
Hope that helps Giancarlo Podio, LMD
