Salt at recommended levels would be ideal to prevent complications. I won’t sting the fish at 1-3 lbs per 100 gallons. Use only pure salt without additives.

Okay, I’m now posting several pictures of the little guy, he looks only slightly spotted to me, his background color is nearly the same dark color as his spots though, maybe he lightens as he gets older.

Perhaps it’s too young? The little guy is only 3 inches maybe including his tail. I can go turn the light back on and see if I can get a better picture of him LOL.
