[AquaticLife] Lucille’s Tail

I saw three very healthy looking goldies. I assume Lucille is the red cap. What I think you are worrying about is a large vein in the tail, in other words, nothing. They do really need more space, thou, unless they were just staying in that corner. Enid **************One […]

Newbie with a fungus problem?

I’m not sure how accurate they are but here’s one… https://www.pondrx.com/products/16179.html
I would save the 10 dollars for the larger tank. As long as you’re not over the 5 teaspoons per gallon (0.5%), you’ll be OK. Anywhere between 0.2% and 0.5% will have therapeutic benefits for sick fish. Then a series of 25% […]

[Ponds-Koi] can mother nature cut me some slack here?!

Thanks Sue, I’ll keep an eye on her. Her lip looked a little better last night.

can mother nature cut me some slack here?!

We’ve been having some crazy weather up here in Minnesota. Had a tornado rip thru one day & straight line winds the next! No damage I can’t fix (glued flower pot and bird bath etc). However one of my fish was roughed up. Ironically I have a ceramic-type fish sitting on […]

question on feeding

I am a new aquarist as well and the one thing that frustrated me is that when I purchased the 5gal tank the sales rep. did not mention that I would require a larger tank if I wanted to purchase certain fish, well I knew all along I wanted cichlids, but was not informed […]

question on feeding

It’s not your fault you didn’t know about the tank size. If you want to keep the goldies, a 50 gallon or so doesn’t have to cost that much:-) and it’s gorgeous with big goldfish in it.

My pump keeps plugging!

My large pump is in a 12×12 milk crate pre-filter w/ the filter material & lava rock. Last year I could go almost a full month before cleaning it. For some reason, this year it plugs up in less than a week. I cleaned it Saturday & it was totally […]

I lost a fish =(

One of my goldies died. I have no idea why. He was fine and dandy one day and dead as ever the next. I didn’t see any marks on him like he was attacked or anything. I checked the water w/ API master freshwater test and everything was fine. (PH=8.4; ammonia, […]
