[AquaticLife] Hair algae- Dwarf Frogs

Yes I have all the real plants downstairs. In the 10 gallon (which is where the abused plants are until I can replant them), and in the 125 gallon most of the plants are planted. I have mostly anubias, but there are a few unknowns that melted when I upped the […]

[AquaticLife] Hair algae- Dwarf Frogs

Dwarf Frogs do not eat algae. They eat worms, freshwater fish if you can give them little bites of the stuff, and even a little flake food. Some people give them Frog Bites in addition, but frozen or fresh worms should be a part of their diet.
The hair algae can take over your tank if […]

hi I don’t post much and was passing time when I stumbled acrossed your question. I had thought about using sand in my frog tank but worried about the problems it might cause for the filters. I got out of the shower one day and noticed for the first time the kind […]

[AquaticLife] Sick Pleco

Common plecos (the mostly bigs ones that you seem to have) LOVE driftwood and actually gnaw on it as part of their diet. Here’s a long article and forum thread on feeding plecos so you may have something laying around in your fridge that will get him eating again. http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11018

[AquaticLife] Re:Fancy Guppies?

Re:Fancy Guppies?

Hi Rabbitbeast:
I think most tetras, especially the small ones like neons, cardinals, and rummy noses, etc would probably get along with the guppies.  However, they are a world apart in pH needs.  The guppies like a higher pH than the tetras.  True, the fish may acclimate if the different pH changes are not imposed […]

Any Rainbowfish Folks out there?

Amber,
Thank you for that reminder about the male/female ratio. Seems to be that way with a lot of fish.
Like you, I prefer to get fish from my LFSs first, if I can. I am a strong, “support local” person. However, if the the LFSs do not have something I want or if their supplies look […]

Fancy Guppies?

I’m new to Fancy Guppies, but not to aquariums. I’ve had one very successful aquarium, and I’m ready to start up another one. I’d just like to know if anyone can tell me a bit about fancy guppies and what kinds of fish they can live peacefully with.
Also, a bit about different kinds […]
