Hi from Holland :)

Hello Marion and welkom here from the States. Once you get the “fish bug” it always leaves you with an “itch” until you finally do something about it — like getting another aquarium. I’m glad to see you’ll be getting this one from your friend, it will be considerably larger than your guppy […]

pea soup - green water.. bad..

HI JAN,
1) I am now dissatisfied with my bio filter…my water is slightly green as I believe my filter can no longer accommodate my koi’s.
*install a UV light or put shades over your pond to partially cover it from long exposure to sunlight. * 2) right now i have two pumps to filter water […]

by draining the water and filling anew you also risk killing them with the chlorine from nawasa so make sure you apply de-chlorinator soluction available and cheap in pet shops.

BTW, cement dust that goes to your pond will eventual pass to the gills (hasang) of the fish and choke them.
It will also help if you buy a big sheet of canvass (tolga) in Gandara (near Ongpin) and cover your pond while the construction is going on.

I know some sobrang maselan people who use filter wool (the kind that pet shops sell for aquarium filter boxes). This will really make your water mechanically super clean but if you do […]

nothing special just the black screens. from the ones with bigger holes to the more finer ones for the mech filter… for the bio filters i now use fine screens of the first part, next are lava rocks and finally plants to eat up algae…

[AquaticLife] 55 gallon tank for the Angel’s

Okay I have the tank filled with everything (soil/gravel/crushed coral/and water), and I have the filter running to get any debris out of the water, I netted as much as I could though. How fast will worm castings break down and put out nitrogen? Does anyone know?

It has worm castings in the soil, they are slow release nitrogen, not sure if that has something to do with it? I will get the tank set up today and start the tests this week to see how the water is.
