My ever adventures with cloudy water

Since this cloudiness is related to new tank syndrome and bacterial blooms, I don’t think a diatom filter would be advised. We need these bacteria in our tanks and they are just in the water column while looking for a place to call home. I’m not sure a diatom filter would even remove […]

[AquaticLife] My ever adventures with cloudy water

Sounds to me like you should have left it in unless it was rotting and turning brown. Did it look healthy? Did you already throw the extra away or do you still have it to put back into the tank? Plants are always good for the tank and if the plant was well […]

My ever adventures with cloudy water

A diatom filter would polish the water and remove the cloudyness. Also puregen is suppose to clear the water.
You mention plants, what did you do about the substrate when you cleaned and re-did the tank?

[AquaticLife] Algae bloom in my 55 gallon

After adding the meds I’ve noticed the fish are acting more normal, which is good. Hopefully I don’t lose any more. I won’t be able to replace the peppered cory’s as they don’t have any more at the LFS, they have what appeared to be green aeneus cory’s in, but I could […]

[AquaticLife] Algae bloom in my 55 gallon

I think I answered most of this in my previous reply a couple of minutes ago but yes, normally, keeping the water in good condition, by doing regular PWC’s, will allow a fish to heal up on its own from fin rot but sometimes, medications are still needed or will help the fish heal up […]
