Well, according to my ever growing list of fish on “How Long Should Your Fish Live” http://goldlenny.blogspot.com/2007/02/how-long-should-aquarium-fish-live.htm l, Guppies should live for 3+ years. Since they were already adults when you bought them, then it’s hard to tell how old they are.
What do you mean by “you post too much”? LOL
At least my […]

I bought a Nesaea pedicellata a few weeks ago. I haven’t potted it into soil yet, I just put it into the gravel (generic pea gravel). The tops are starting to turn pink instead of a yellowish green like the rest of the plant, I would assume that this is a good […]

I looked at both links and saw this on the BiFuran+…
“Ingredients: nitrofurazone and furazolidone (active ingredients); sodium cloride, synthetic polymers and a chelating agent.” (I just copy/pasted this from the BiFuran+ website so they are the ones that spelled chloride wrong… not me! lol)
So… it is obvious that this is NOT just 80% […]

Some of the online brands are Bifuran+ or Furan-2 or Binox but I don’t know what I’ll find at my local fish store. I’m a fairly recent transplant to the […]

If you could give us the brand and medicine you are considering/comparing, it would be easier.
If I saw on a package that it “treats 100 gallons”, then I would presume that it would provide a full treatment for a 100G tank, according to its instructions. Half of that treatment would be suitable for a […]

Okay I can tell you from my pH tests that that was the cause of last nights catastrophe. My pH out of the tap is about 6.6, the pH in my tank is about 6 right now. I’m not sure how much of a change 25% of the cold water at the […]

I figured it was a pH shock with the cold water, I’ve never tested my cold water pH, I always tested everything mixed. Apparently my cold water is very different than my tank was, but a 25% change shouldn’t have been that much of a shock, should it? I will test my […]

Gah, after looking closely at my purple passion danio’s it appears I now have caused stress and fin rot from the water changes I would assume. I dosed with melafix and pimafix for now until I can get out to the LFS and find something else, hopefully that’ll at least help the fish […]
