question on feeding
Kelly, what kind of filter is on the tank? Assuming it is filtered and that the media has been left untouched, you should be somewhere in the middle of the cycling process. Being such a small tank, I would suggest keeping the levels safe by way of water changes, the filter will still cycle, it may take a little longer but it’s better that way.
That said, most small fish bowls and tanks in this range are managed by way of water changes more so than by biological filtration. Regardless of how well it will cycle, such a small body of water will still require very regular water changes, perhaps every other day or so…
Normally I feed very lightly when fish cycling, in your case, I would not feed more than once every other day until cycling has completed.
