Question about pump for 4,000 gal pond
Your Biotech filter has a max flow of 2300gph. Therefore a 4 hp pump would be vary serious over kill. In you case I’d go with a Mag Drive 2400gph for your filter. If you want to boast that flow for a water fall or stream then use a second pump for just the water fall.
While I heard loads of good thing about the sequence pumps when your talking a big sequence pump your talking a lot of money as well. Even going with two Mag Drives you would be spending less than one sequence giving you half the total flow.
Now if you wanted to have a 20 to 50 foot high fountian that would be completly differnt issue. Then you need the pressure that a high hp pump can give you even a low flow rate.
