problems with tank
What were the water readings when you added fish after a month? Was the tank fully cycled? Do you have a test kit at home to test the water yourself in order to monitor the cycle? Even if all you can get for now are the strips, that would be a start. How many goldfish were you keeping in the 55 before they started dying?
