Actually, the water is leaking in through the wiring housing… the black plastic that surrounds the actual wiring going to the plug. There’s probably a split in the wiring housing. It’s why the pump runs on a regular outlet or circuit breaker outlet but the GFCI detects the change in current from the water along side the metal wiring where a circuit breaker isn’t going to detect it.
