[Ponds-Koi] Koi scratching on rocks - Help

OK, let’s hold our horses here for a bit shall we. All you mentioned in your original post was that your 150 gallon pond has good aeration correct? Any bio-filtration? What amount of gallons are you pumping through it? Any new fish in the last few months? What is your climate like? Is it warm already? Any heavy rains lately? Have you tested the pond and your tap water for PH, Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates and KH? Have you done ANY water changes? Let’s look first at the water…..the root cause of all ills BTW. This behavior could very easily be water related especially if you haven’t changed out the water, or have had rains lately. I’m particularly interested in your ammonia and KH readings. Salt is only effective against one parasite that I’m aware of. Ick!!! Ick is not that common in ponds, but Chilo and Trick certainly are if the pond is dirty and just coming out of winter. Sue
