[Ponds-Koi] Foam and clear Water
Most nitrate test kits that I’ve used over the years usually have the levels in 5ppm intervals so it would go from 0.0ppm to 5.0ppm to 10.0ppm, usually up to over 100ppm. You may be confusing the ammonia/nitrite kits with the nitrate kit since those two do test in less than 1.0ppm intervals. Many tap waters even have 10ppm or more of nitrates. The US DEQ allows up to 10ppm nitrates and some communities or sources have even higher levels of nitrates out the tap.
