[Ponds-Koi] do koi get lice!

I did manage to catch the koi. Unfortunately I have no way of quarantining him. The bumps look like they are from inside the fin. It is definately not something attached or moving. They look like little tiny cysts. There is no irritation around them. The one on the tail, looks really white I think because it is denser flesh than the transparentness of the fin around it. There is no lesions or bumps on the body. He didn’t seem to have a huge amount of slime covering, just kinda normal(?). I have added pictures under ‘Lori’s pond’. I have gone through old photos and don’t see the white spot on his tail. Could it be an injury from over the winter that has healed thicker? And maybe the ones on the dorsal have always been there but have not been noticed? All the fish are acting normal and eating well.
Thanks for you input,
Lori
Lori, without seeing the fish personally, this sounds like Koi pox. I’m assuming this is a koi????? If so, once warmed up often this just goes away. It’s basically a virus (they think) which is not particularly catchy. Sue Sue
