[Ponds-Koi] ALGAEFIX UPDATE
But Bill… don’t you agree that algaecides are not a solution to algae problems. The problems or cause of the algae should be fixed first before throwing chemicals into the pond as a solution.
I know you are a retailer so you don’t want to completely discount chemical solutions but 9 times out of 10, there are “natural” ways to solve most pond/aquarium problems instead of throwing chemicals at our fish. Most of the time, it’s just basic things like doing weekly PWC’s, filter maintenance, cleaning the detritus out of the bottom, etc.
I’m not so sure that using the EPA as one of your reference sources is such a good thing either. I’m not a tree-hugger but I know the EPA will approve something today and a few years from now, say it’s dangerous and ban it so just because they say it’s OK today, doesn’t necessarily means it’s really OK. Tell the lab-coats to drink it and swim around in it and if they’ll do that, then I might concede my thoughts on algaecides… NOT! ![]()
We had a cold-front come through this past weekend.. it’s been down in the 70’s the last few days. BRRRRR!!!
