PH ??
Quick answer off the top of my head (we need more info for a real “solution”: very slowly!! raise the 6 to about 7.5 with baking soda and do nothing yet to the 8. Do you have a running history of pH readings for the two ponds? If so, what does it look like? If not, why not?
A pond that is a rock solid steady 8.0 with no ammonia is fine. A pond that varies needs to be looked at closely to be properly understood. If you have plants in the ponds, take pH tests first thing in the AM before the sun has really been out and then again in the late afternoon before the sun starts to weaken. That info is important.
What is the KH of each pond? (If the 6 pH pond is very soft water you could be heading for a deadly pH crash.) KH becomes very important.
