Noise from filter. What can I do???

Hello all. We have had our pond for 4 1/2 years now and truly enjoy the peacefull sound of the water and frogs at night. Our pond is approx 1200-1500 gallons and the filtration that we have always used is a large bottom filter that returns water via a waterfall with plants; a second 700 gph in a pump sock that returns water via a second waterfall with plants; and this spring I added a Fishmate UV Bio pond filter just to aid additional filtration. Our water stays crystal clear, and our goldies are thriving as long as we can keep the heron away. The Fishmate came with it’s own pump 300 gph and had fittings for either 1″ or 1 1/4″ fittings from pump to filter. I chose the larger as not to need to use a reducer on the filter box. This type of filter allows for passive/gravity flow of water from filter to pond so requires the filter to be higher than the ponds edge. OK, here’s my question. The returning water from the filter produces a gurgling noise. I have raised the filter box; shortened the return pipes (has two), and even tried reducing the flow from the pump, but we still have the noise. Does anyone have any experience with this, or an idea for a solution? We miss the single sounds of the waterfall without the gurgle. James S.
