Newbie with a fungus problem?
It may have a negligible effect, since the salt concentration to recharge the zeolite is much higher than what you ever had in your tank. I’ll bet that once the ammonia and nitrite are under control, most of your problems will go away. Then, when you get a larger tank, the rest of them will pretty much disappear.
