My pump keeps plugging!
My solution - I took the filter out of the pump and put the pump back in the 12×12 milk crate pre-filter - hasn’t plugged up yet! Happy days.
BTW - My cat is scared of the fish, but LOVES to snack on their fish food =)

You do have a lot of fish! But as others have suggested, it’s probably all the algae that’s clogging it.
I don’t think I saw that anyone suggested not using a prefilter. Running your water straight from the pump to a basin filled with lava rocks and plants will clear you right up–no need for a prefilter because the plants eat the poop. I see that you don’t have a waterfall (yet). However, you could use even a small bog to create a natural filter that won’t clog (I did this one year as I had to re- route due to the games rodents play).
At one point, my pump was clogging (and also snails becoming disemboweled) but then I just put mesh baskets around my pump and no more troubles.
And for the algae, someone suggested using a chemical, and that is a way to go. I however use salt. Too much salt, you will kill all your plants, too little salt, your fish might get sick and you will have a bunch of algae, just right amount of salt will ensure dead algae, healthy fish and clear water.
