Low ph


Caution is wonderful - when in doubt use less and then, after it has had plenty of time to mix and dissolve, etc., test and then plan the next step.
One way to try to guess more accurately is to take a CLEAN!! garbage can (any can with a new garbage bag in it will do) and fill it with pond water. check the pH. Add a very, very, carefully measured amount of Baking Soda. Mix, wait, retest. When you have brought it up to the desired point - say 7.5, then do the math, twice, and figure out how much is needed for the entire pond. Then use only about 1/4 of that amount and wait and test.
