Light fixture flickering after Hurricane Dolly power outage

Hi Giancarlo,
Thanks very much for replying.
I have a single linear strip, 30 inch 65W straight pin Aqualight for planted freshwater tanks. The fixture is nearly 2 years old with the original tube so I suppose the tube may have worn out. I’ve hardly ever done anything with electrical wiring so am feeling a bit intimidated by the thought of replacing a ballast on this fixture. But I’m not too keen on the expense or delay involved in getting a whole new fixture either, sigh. When I switch it on, there is some slight flickering of light for a few seconds before it gives up. Tomorrow morning, I’ll have a couple of hours to try exchanging a good tube with this one to see if the tube may be the problem. Thanks for the idea, it’s something I should have thought of myself. I have a suspicion that it is not the entire explanation though.
I hope we don’t have any more hurricanes this season. This was enough.
Until later, Beverly
Peace, please!
