Intro from new member
I am sorry that it has taken do long to send in this intro..
I live in Tulsa Oklahoma with my fiance’ Jim
My fiance’ and I have started creating our own special oasis in our back yard.. we started out with 1 preformed pond and now has grown into an obsession…. we currently have 4 ponds 3 preformed and a reformed old hot tub that we have made into a pond.. We have fancy gold fish and had purchased some feeder goldfish and 5 koi (we lost one last week before we went on vacation don’t know what was wrong with it ..it was fine when we went to bed) We have had to be creative since we have a sup pump in our basement that pumps out water when it rains.. (don’t ask me where the water is coming from we haven’t the faintest idea since the basement is totally dry) But we decided to do away with the swamp that developes in the spring and created a dry creek bed that runs down into 2 small preformed ponds so when it rains the water does not go to waste we do not have any fish in that one since the rain has a tendency to cause the fish to be washed out.. we have our water garden and plants for the pond in there until needed to be transplanted.. Over the weekend we have marked out the stream and the rest of the area that we started back last year. (the dry creek bed) We have included a small island where we plan to plant a Japanese Maple and other flowers so we can have color from spring to fall..and at the end of the stream it will come together into another pond but this time we are using a liner.. will take pictures throughout the process..and will post in albums .. We are trying to come up with a way to incorporate all ponds with one filtration system when totally finished.. (kind of circling the yard).. Thanks for letting me Join.. Serena
