Be careful of advise from your LFS… if they don’t even know what’s in your local water… or maybe you just got an ill-informed employee. ![]()
This thread has been trimmed too much but if I remember right, your FW tanks had a pH of 7.2… right? If your 48 hour baseline is only coming up to 7.0, it’s unusual for your tanks to be up to 7.2 unless you have something else in them that is leaching buffers. Do you have any natural rocks or any other additives (crushed coral, buffer-up bottled chemicals that shouldn’t be used, etc.) that you haven’t told us about? It’s nothing to be alarmed about if you aren’t having problems but it’s still always a good thing to know exactly what is going on with your tanks chemistry… even though folks rarely need to change it.
