Odd! I have been a registered Democrat for over 35 years and so far I have never collected Welfare, Strangely, I have always worked, often two or three jobs and I own a small business as well. I have raised three children, and My wife has always been a stay at home mom. (her choice first, and I agreed!) As Rush says, “I am tired of the stereotypes that the other side puts on us! You can’t let the other guy define who you are!”
Unfortunately, Those of us who see responsibility for personal decisions and actions appear to be the minority in EITHER party. I am tired of shoot first and ask questions later politics. In fact, I am SICK of politics altogether. But maybe that is the way Republicans WANT it so that the “unwashed masses” don’t wish to vote. After all if you control the electorate, you control the country. (aI am not saying that the D side is any better. i am sick of them too!)
just my chime in here. I can’t WAIT to be able to dig my pond. At this point, I plan to go with a pretty simple thing. Probably a plastic pre formed, but maybe a simple pond liner with a modest pump size. What I want is a beginner pond, not a huge water garden. My “plan” if you can call it that, is to have it large enough that I can put my three or four Koi and maybe a couple dozen “Feeder Goldfish” they sell at Petsmart for 12 cents each So we are talking an investment of what ? Three dollars??? And maybe some plants. I also plan to build a patio and a sort of lattic work gazebo/sun shade ty0pe of thing. Plans are not totally there yet, but I have my idea in mind anyway.
Wish some of you were closer so I could draft you into digging, but If I spread enough beer around, my Truck driving buddies might come by and help out. My investment in labor would be maybe $30 in steaks, $25 in Beer and a few dollars in Charcoal! Should be fun….if the stupid SNOW ever melts!
And YES, I am an environmentalist. I ride a BICYCLE for most of my personal transportation. YOU don’t have to, I don’t care! I also drive a small car that gets 35 mpg and a motorcycle that gets 100 mpg. that way I don’t have to pay as much confiscatory taxes as someone driving an SUV. Bleaugh! (;-P
