Getting food to lower level fish - resolution

Thanks to all for your suggestions! What I have ended up having success with is using a small gravel cleaner siphon (only about 12″ long). I fill it about half with water, then start over after getting the darn Zebra Danio out. One always insists on swimming into it. I have the thawed food in a small cup of water and pour it down the tube, then immediately drop more of the frozen or sometimes flake food on top to lure the Danios away. I flush the food down the tube with more water from the cup and out the end to the Badis.
They now have a fair shot anyway before the Danios swoop down, having already gulped down all of the food on top. I also added Dwarf Neon Rainbows earlier this week. Love them! Small and beautiful. They do provide somewhat of a buffer between Danios and Badis.
The Badis *are* getting a little more bold though. I’ve seen them, on more than a few occasions, nip at and chance a Danio away from the bottom. I have at least two that frequently have a reddish tinge to their fins now. Still not sure what my male/female count is, but as they grow I hope to try to figure it out.
They have plants, 2 small flower pots and a lace rock, so I think they are settling in and feeling comfortable. The Rainbows seem to have settled right in wihtout blinking.
Thanks for all the help!
