Whom ever told you Melafix doesn’t work on open wounds is incorrect. If the treatment/applications of Melafix are done correctly and continued as suggested, it is very good for healing open wounds. The Parasite Green I mentioned is also very good for treating open sores/wounds. Another very good medication you can try is “Hikari Bio Bandage Gel”. With both Parasite Green and Bio Bandage Gel, it’s best to remove the fish from the pond, treat the wound, then release it back into the pond.
