Fin problem on balloon molly
Hmmm…. the bubbles look sort of like that! They are on the fins, not the eyes, but the description of the disease says it can affect fins. They definitely look fluid or gas filled, not solid. The bubbles are not clear like in the picture, they are more opaque, but that doesn’t necessarily rule it out. I wish I could share a picture but it’s just to hard to catch the fish with the fin extended and not moving too fast!
Reading about the causes, I can’t imagine why I’d have gas supersaturation issues, and I don’t have bubbles in the tank.
I guess I’ll just observe! Maybe it’s just one of those things. Behavior is very normal - no rubbing or scratching, eating OK, not aggressive or hiding. I don’t see any reason to euthanize or medicate at this point.
