I wondered about that before I had one, now I can’t imagine having tanks without it. I LOVE my python. I siphon water out. Cut off the tap, go squirt water conditioner into each tank, turn water back on. Adjust temp of water at faucet to slightly warmer than lukewarm/tepid, switch the python to refill mode and away we go. I use a bit warmer water to refill for 2 reasons, 1 it cools down a bit in the tube on the way to the tank and 2 that fish seem to have better tolerance for temp increases than decreases.
