Black goldfish
I have caught some of the smaller bronze/blackish/brownish looking ones to put in my inside aquarium to watch when they change color. I still question the large 4-5″ deep black ones??? Shouldn’t they have changed color by now? This is their 2nd year in the pond that we have noticed (we only noticed about five of them last summer). Also I had an orange/white goldfish in the inside aquarium last year - I put him (about 4″ long) in the pond this year and he now has a black tail and black body areas. Anybody know where I can read up on color activity in pond goldfish? Will the 5″ pure black goldfish (he’s a beautiful longfin guy when we can see him) change color or stay black? Is black normal in larger goldfish?
