You don’t need 2×8’s. 2×4’s will be fine. I built my stand for my 65G out of 2×4’s and it’s sturdy enough to hold much more tank. See my blog for details on “My DIY $20.00 Tank Stand”. Or were you just planning on removing the peg legs to set the rest of the stand on blocks of wood?
