[AquaticLife] setting up 10 gallon aquarium - have questions


You need to look at fish that stay closer to one inch which limits your choices. In a 10G, you would only want 10 small 1″ fish and you are planning for five pygmy corys so your other 5-6 fish should be in the lower 1″ range. If you went with 5-6 2″ fish, you would be overstocked by 50% by even the minimalist of standards.

Another fish that stays very small is the Galaxy Raspbora so you might want to see if your LFS has them.
I wouldn’t go with both oto’s and pygmy corys since they are both mostly bottom dwellers. Your first plan to go with the pygmy corys (bottom dwellers) and a small school of small tetras would be a more visually active tank.
