[AquaticLife] Reverse a Reverse??

Well that’s not quite a reverse I think ;) It’d be a reverse if you were putting all the media back into the 5 gallon and tearing down the 29 gallon ;) LOL. But yes, from what I understand (please someone correct me if I’m wrong), you can keep using media from established tanks to start up a new tank, there might be a mini cycle at most, but the bacteria will repopulate fairly fast once they are set up with the nutrients they require (ammonia/nitrite).

GH and KH are just about nonexistent, which is perfectly normal according to my well water base line. > > All this is being said, and assuming that NO issues or ammonia spikes occur or any other problems with water parameters after a run-in period of 6 weeks, can this process be reversed? > > By that I mean this. Can I again remove some of the colonized filter media, some of the top layer of the gravel of the current running tank, and begin the cycle all over again by starting another tank up following this same procedure? > > Bill > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > ———————————— > > Please, DELETE this line and EVERYTHING below it when replying, Thank You. > ·´¯`·.¸¸.>.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸> ¸.·´¯`·.¸. , .·´¯`·..> > PLEASE, when you REPLY to a post, DELETE all TEXT that is NOT important to the reply & if CHANGING the TOPIC of the original message MODIFY the SUBJECT LINE -> i.e. “new subject (was re: old subject)” We Thank You in Advance for Your HELP in this matter.Yahoo!
