[AquaticLife] Replacing internal filter
Noura, I would not use sponges designed for washing dishes. Many of these sponges come with detergents or anti- mildew agents that may be deadly to your fish. -Mike In a message dated 6/2/2008 5:53:28 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, n-taweel@scs-net.org writes:
Hi , I noticed that the sponge inside the new filter has really big holes. you can see the light through them. I was wondering if I can replace it with two ‘twin’ pieces of sponge with smaller holes, I bought a cube of “washing-dishes” sponge, colored.. can it work? Any advise? BTW, the filter contains a sealed carbon container, which I’m planning to open and empty a couple of weeks later, what do you suggest to put instead of the activated carbon: ciramic, plyster, floss pads, keep empty.. etc??
Thanks, Noura
