[AquaticLife] Plant questions

Pouring HP into the dirt will cause it to do it’s job and do it quickly as the dirt and bacteria will cause the HP to oxidize quickly so it does less damage to any surrounding tissue. All HP available at retail is already diluted, usually at the 3% to 5% range… but even that low dilution level leaves HP as a viable option but I’m just not sure how dipping the plant completely will affect the plant unless you were to just dunk it for a quick second, pull it out and then be ready to dunk it in fresh water to stop the oxidizing effect. At least with spritzing/spraying, the HP will be able to oxidize and release the extra Oxygen molecule (HP - H2O2) and then basically become distilled water where dipping the plant may not provide for this immediate release of the oxidizing molecule.
Here’s a couple of articles I have for treating algae with HP and you’ll see how this warning is discussed further.

Pond owners even add HP either directly, via dissolving tablets or via dissolving Barley Hay, to their ponds to combat algae and also to raise the O2 levels in the pond during the hot summer days if the water temp gets so high as to cause fish distress due to low O2 levels…. but it’s always highly diluted.
