[AquaticLife] OT - Computer problems - IE freezing up???
I use IE. 6, no less.
It does sometimes freeze up, usually because it’s for some reason using more resources than the available RAM, which probably indicates some sort of error state.
Recent upgrades, especially the service pack 3 for Widnows XP, make the problem much worse by using up alot of RAM.
It could be true that you have programs open unecessarily - run control alt delete, check what you have running and close anything you don’t need. If IE is using more than 50,000 whatevers of RAM that’s your problem and you ened to close all the windows, do control alt delete and make sure it’s closed, which it may not do, and then restart it.
You CAN always use firefox, which isn’t a bad browser, but I like IE.
Another reason why IE hangs is if you dno’t have your flash and direct x and all that installed and running. Yours, Dora Smith Austin, TX tiggernut24@yahoo.com
