[AquaticLife] My Betta gets a new home

Hi Harl,
I am glad you found a happy new tank for your betta. Just want to warn you that they do jump! I have had them jump and when they have done it, they have gone pretty far. They may not do it often, but all it takes is once when you are not there…. Maybe you could put a net or some screen over the top of the tank if you can’t find a top for it?
Frogs definitely will get out if you do not have a top for the tank. Those little buggers love to escape. Also, a 3 gallon is not big enough to hold both a betta and a frog comfortably, sorry. A snail might be okay but you should talk to the place you get it and make sure it’s a type that won’t reproduce or you’ll be grumbling about that cute snail real quick! LOL! I think you can look up snails on theaquariumwikipedia.com and find out which of them don’t reproduce like mad when they are kept alone. Seems like apple snails are one such type?
Finally, have you thought about a real plant or two? They are prettier than the fake ones and contribute to the health of your fish. Plus, the snail would like them if you got a snail. If you like the fake ones better, never mind. I just wanted to encourage you to get up the courage to give it a try if that was what was holding you back.
These are just my ideas. Best of luck to you and your betta. I know he’ll be happy in his new home with you. Deb P.
