[AquaticLife] I really messed up this time!
The method that you level would depend on the stand. If it has legs and you do not need much raise I would think you could place a piece of wood directly under the leg, or you could get something at the hardware store that you could raise and lower via a nut and a wrench.
If the stand has the entire bottom touching the floor, then I would think it best to use something that goes the entire length, and shims back - to keep the whole of the stand in contact with the floor. The idea is to keep the stand supported as it was designed - not as critical as the bottom edges of the tank, but pretty important.
I would assume that you want it to look good when done, so you would not want it sticking out in the room very far…
You could send a few photos of the entire thing, and some close ups of the bottom, and mabe an idea would come to mind…
