[AquaticLife] German Blue Ram Breeding
How fortunate for you that the fish chose a rock that you can easily view. The parents may have a hard time guarding the eggs effectively with all the other fish I am seeing in the tank. The other fish may successfully raid the eggs and/or the parents may eat them rather than utilize a lot of energy defending them.
They will hatch within a few days, if they were successfully fertilized. Once they are free swimming they will eat microscopic foods, and may be gradually be weaned to finely ground flake food, and/or newly hatched brine shrimp, and/or a homemade food, of which there are many recipes available. It will be difficult to ensure the fry get enough to eat in a community tank to grow well. Also, there is still the question of defense from the other tank inhabitants.
If you are truly intent on breeding them, and raising the fry with or without the adults, you should set them up in their own tank, maybe a 10 gallon, and let them go at it. Once they have bred, you can watch the interaction, or move the parents back to the main tank.
I am sure there are good articles out there on the breeding and raising of the fry of rams, but cannot quote them for you off hand.
