[AquaticLife] black spots n goldfish
[Giving you a two for one answer here to both your replies to my reply] Having test kits for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH is one of the requirements of keeping fish. You can get a master test kit for around $20 on the low side (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals (API)). With the fish in a 10 gallon tank, you should be doing at least 25% water changes on a daily basis to get the water parameters back into line and remove the wastes and chemicals we cannot or do not test for. The yellowish tinge is a bad sign, unless there is driftwood in the tank that is leaching tannins, and even then, that may not do the goldfish much good.
You do not mention filtration, but you do need a filter to help you out, and filter solid wastes as well as giving the nitrogenous waste bacteria a bed to colonize so they can help regular the nitrogenous wastes in your tank. Look up the posts on Dr. Tim’s One and Only here in the list archives. There were some posts on it earlier today, and we were favored with a visit from Dr. Tim himself a few days ago.
