[AquaticLife] An experiment has started…
No, I did not buy the product from him. He sells cycle though. He just does not believe in instant fish ready, I could tell. I can not wait to see how much all my readings are in the morning. I knew that I only needed one or the other. I found the ammonia that I needed at a Ace Hardware and purchased it, then I thought that was way too long to go without fish, since it has been in my office for a while now, so I ordered the Dr. Tim’s
Since I had both, and his attitude made me edgy, I decided to try it out. The only reason I added the ammonia first was I wanted it to get to the 4 ppm that was suggested to start off a tank, and since I did not do my homework on a test gallon of water first, in order to know how much to add, I just did it in the tank. I found out 6 drops from my dropper is .5 parts per million. So I took it up to 2 parts per million, and tested. Then up to 4 ppm.
If it works out, I will go and get fish tomorrow! It seems that the nitrates would not be so high this way that I would need to do the 90% water change.
My readings before adding the ammonia were a PH of 8 and everything else a 0 - API master test kit… I do not have the hardness test kits, but the water here is pretty hard to say the least. Had I know I needed them when I purchased the “master” test kit I would have ordered them at that time. I will soon, but right now the wife’s patience might be wearing a bit thin on all the recent fish stuff purchased. In her defense it is a fairly long list…
