It’s an organic carbon source for plants, an alternative to CO2… I had suggested it to you as an alternative to algaecide a couple replies back. Here’s more info on it:

I suggest trying it, either at recommended dose or double the daily dose if algae is present. (never double the “initial” dose on the instructions)
