Angelfish laying eggs
Some breeders/exporters will only sell the male species of fish/critters as a way of trying to hold a semi-monopoly on a species. This was tried with the Red Cherry Shrimp but enough females have been imported into the USA that there many breeders/sellers now. The male of a species are usually the “prettiest” also… except for the Red Cherry Shrimp and us human men. LOL
Maybe your LFS or the supplier is practicing a little of this type of monopoly mindset marketing. Thus, when your male dies, you’ll have to buy from him/them since you won’t ever be able to breed your own. You should start looking into sellers on Aquabid.com and other sources and let him know that you will start buying from other sources if he doesn’t meet his customers wants/needs. Necessity is the mother of invention!
